Abstract

Se producen fibras a partir de una solucion de acetona de acetato celulosa al extruir dicho material a través de un rotor en un proceso de rotacion en seco. Se aplica un vacío a las fibras así formadas después de un cierto grado de secado. Se forma una capa externa seca, y el vacío hace que el solvente que se encuentra dentro de dicha capa explote o salte, y salga de la fibra a lo largo de trayectos microporosos produciendo así fibras de gran superficie con cavidades microporosas y un volumen vacío interno. Dichas microcavidades son particularmente utiles para retener agentes solidos y/o líquidos en un filtro de cigarrillo para la filtracion selectiva de varios componentes de humo.
