Abstract
El captador eólico de la presente está constituido por un eje central y vertical giratorio cuyo extremo inferior está sujeto mediante cojinetes a un soporte rígido fijado al suelo, presentando el eje en sus extremos y solidariamente brazos radiales unidos a él y regularmente espaciados entre sí. Los extremos de cada brazo superior con su contiguo inferior están conectados mediante cables o cuerdas. Entre los brazos radiales superiores e inferiores hay velas placas o láminas paralelepípedas rectangulares aseguradas por sus vértices más extremos. En todos los casos el lado más externo de estas velas está sujeto y gira con o alrededor de los ejes cables o cuerdas entre los extremos de los brazos de 90° a 180°, teniendo los dos vértices internos sueltos. Entre el eje y cada dos brazos contiguos se disponen unos cordones paralelos o malla en los cuales se apoyan las velas, placas o láminas cuando estas reciben el viento por una cara. En lugar de los cordones o malla los lados superior e inferior de las velas pueden tener unas varillas que se apoyan en el eje o en los brazos radiales y efectúan la misma función de la malla.
