Abstract

Se describen productos absorbentes y panos húmedos que son útiles para reducir la cantidad de amoníaco producido por las bacterias en o cerca de la piel o en los fluidos del cuerpo tal como la orina. Los productos aquí descriptos contienen un protector de osmorregulación el cual cuando se introduce en el ambiente que contiene bacterias interactúa con las bacterias y reduce la cantidad de amoníaco producida por las bacterias sin afectar significativamente la tasa de crecimiento de las bacterias. Los protectores de osmorregulación descritos aquí son particularmente útiles en combinación con las prendas para la incontinencia del adulto en donde el control de los olores de los subproductos bacteriales tal como el amoníaco es altamente deseable.
