Abstract
La presente se refiere a promotores aislados del maíz y a equivalente funcionales del mismo. Los promotores de la presente tienen una utilidad particular en impulsar la expresión raíz-específica de genes heterólogos que imparten una mayores características agronómicas, hortícolas y/o pesticidas a una planta transgénica dada. La presente también se refiere a moléculas de DNA que comprenden los promotores de la presente, a sus métodos de obtención e identificación y tejidos de plantas transformadas que contienen moléculas de DNA que comprenden un promotor de la presente operablemente ligado a uno o más genes heterólogos, y a las semillas de las mismas. Reivindicación 1: Una molécula de ácidos nucleicos, aislada, que codifica un promotor capaz de dirigir la transcripción raíz-específica en una planta, comprendiendo la secuencia de nucleótidos de dicho promotor, una secuencia de nucleótidos seleccionada de entre el grupo consistente en: a) una secuencia de nucleótidos según SEQ ID NO: 1, SEQ ID NO: 2, SEQ ID NO: 3 ó SEQ ID NO: 4; b) una secuencia de nucleótidos, que se hibridiza bajo condiciones de elevada severidad a una secuencia de nucleótidos de a); y c) una secuencia de nucleótidos, que comprende un fragmento de una secuencia de a), manteniendo dicho fragmento la función de la secuencia de nucleótidos de a).
