Abstract

Se mejora el crecimiento utilizando una metodología potencial de incremento del crecimiento por administración de una secuencia de ácido nucleico tal como GHRH o un análogo, a un animal hembra, preferentemente a través de una ruta de administración parenteral. Reivindicación 16: Un método para incrementar los niveles de hormona de crecimiento en una progenie de un animal hembra que comprende la etapa de introducir una cantidad efectiva de un vector dentro de las células de dicho animal hembra previo o durante la gestación de dicha progenie, donde dicho vector comprende un promotor, una secuencia de ácido nucleico y una región no traducida 3', bajo condiciones donde la secuencia de nucleótidos se expresa y en donde dicha introducción y expresión de dicho vector resulta en el incremento de los niveles de hormona de crecimiento en dicha progenie. Reivindicación 61: Un método para incrementar la eficacia de alimentos en una progenie de un animal hembra que comprende la etapa de introducir una cantidad efectiva de un vector dentro de las células de dicho animal hembra previo o durante la gestación de dicha progenie, donde dicho vector comprende un promotor; una secuencia de ácido nucleico; y una región no traducida 3', bajo condiciones en donde la secuencia de nucleótido se expresa y en donde dicha introducción y expresión de dicho vector resulta en el incremento de la eficacia alimenticia de dicha progenie. Reivindicación 76: Un método para incrementar la velocidad de crecimiento de una progenie de un animal hembra que comprende la etapa de introducir una cantidad efectiva de un vector dentro de las células de dicho animal hembra previo o durante la gestación de dicha progenie, en donde dicho vector comprende un promotor; una secuencia de nucleótidos; y una región no traducida 3', bajo condiciones en donde la secuencia del nucleótido es expresada y en donde dicha introducción y expresión de dicho vector resulta en el incremento de la velocidad de crecimiento de dicha progenie. Reivindicación 91: Un método para incrementar la relación de somatótrofos respecto de otras células productoras de hormona en una glándula pituitaria de una progenie de un animal hembra que comprende las etapas de introducir una cantidad efectiva de un vector dentro de las células de dicho animal hembra previo o durante la gestación de dicha progenie, en donde dicho vector comprende un promotor; una secuencia de nucleótidos; y una región no traducida 3', bajo condiciones donde la secuencia del nucleótido se expresa y en donde dicha introducción y expresión de dicho vector resulta en la relación de somatótrofos respecto de otras células productoras de hormona en la glándula pituitaria de dicha progenie. Reivindicación 107: Un método para retardar el nacimiento de una progenie de un animal que comprende la etapa de introducir una cantidad efectiva de un vector dentro de las células de dicho animal hembra previo o durante la gestación de dicha progenie, donde dicho vector comprende un promotor; una secuencia de nucleótidos; y una región no traducida 3', bajo condiciones donde la secuencia del nucleótido se expresa y en donde dicha introducción y expresión de dicho vector resulta en el retraso del nacimiento de dicha progenie. Claim 16: A method of increasing the growth hormone levels in a progeny of a female animal comprising the step of introducing an effective amount of a vector into the cells of said previous female animal or during the gestation of said progeny, wherein said vector comprises a promoter, a nucleic acid sequence and a 3 'untranslated region, under conditions where the nucleotide sequence is expressed and where said introduction and expression of said vector results in increasing growth hormone levels in said progeny. Claim 61: A method for increasing the efficacy of food in a progeny of a female animal comprising the step of introducing an effective amount of a vector into the cells of said previous female animal or during the gestation of said progeny, wherein said vector comprises a promoter; a nucleic acid sequence; and a 3 'untranslated region, under conditions where the nucleotide sequence is expressed and where said introduction and expression of said vector results in an increase in the feeding efficiency of said progeny. Claim 76: A method for increasing the growth rate of a progeny of a female animal comprising the step of introducing an effective amount of a vector into the cells of said previous female animal or during the gestation of said progeny, wherein said vector comprises a promoter; a nucleotide sequence; and a 3 'untranslated region, under conditions where the nucleotide sequence is expressed and where said introduction and expression of said vector results in increasing the growth rate of said progeny. Claim 91: A method for increasing the ratio of somatotrophs to other hormone producing cells in a pituitary gland of a progeny of a female animal comprising the steps of introducing an effective amount of a vector into the cells of said previous female animal or during the gestation of said progeny, wherein said vector comprises a promoter; a nucleotide sequence; and a 3 'untranslated region, under conditions where the nucleotide sequence is expressed and where said introduction and expression of said vector results in the ratio of somatotrophs to other hormone producing cells in the pituitary gland of said progeny. Claim 107: A method of delaying the birth of a progeny of an animal comprising the step of introducing an effective amount of a vector into the cells of said previous female animal or during the gestation of said progeny, wherein said vector comprises a promoter ; a nucleotide sequence; and a 3 'untranslated region, under conditions where the nucleotide sequence is expressed and where said introduction and expression of said vector results in the delay of the birth of said progeny. Claim 122: A method of increasing milk production in an animal comprising the step of introducing an effective amount of a vector into the cells of said animal, wherein said vector comprises a promoter; a nucleotide sequence; and a 3 'untranslated region, under conditions where the nucleotide sequence is expressed and where said introduction and expression of said vector results in increased milk production of said animal.
