Abstract
Se definen bocadillos de material de almidon alimenticio inflado, en particular material de almidon de granos, teniendo una textura desmenuzable mejorada yuna apariencia más estética y métodos para prepararlos. En términos generales, los productosso n trocitos de bocadillos, tortas, galletitas o similares, hechosde material de almidon alimenticio. Preferiblemente, el material de almidon es provisto principalmente en la forma de pepitas o perlas individuales de un granode cereal, tal comoarroz, maíz, trigo, centeno, avena, mijo, sorgo, cebada, alforfon o mezclas de ellos. También se pueden emplear cantidades de otro materialde almidon alimenticio como un constituyente co-mezclado, o la principal fuente de material de almidon demasa, por ej emplo material de almidon de papa. Unacantidad del grano es inflado (expandido) de una manera la cual forma un producto de bocadillo de considerable desmenuzabilidad, liviandad, y textura singulartanto para la boca como para el ojo. Deacuerdo con un método de hacer el producto de almidon alimenticio inflado del presente invento, se provee una cámara deinflado teniendo superficies interiores y un volumen de cámara. Una cantidad de masa del material de almidon alimenticio escolocada dentro de la cámara deinflado. La cantidad de masa del material de almidon alimenticio se hace expandir volumétricamente. El material de almidon alimenticio en expansion esrestringido en su expansion por lo menos en una primera dimension,mientras que permite la expansion de la cantidad de masa por lo menos en una segundadimension.
