Abstract

Un proceso en fase líquida no contaminante y un aparato para producir dioxido de titanio a partir de mineral o escoria de titanio proporcionan un procesode sulfato más economico para atrapar anatasa. El mineral o escoria se hace reaccionar con ácidosulfurico caliente. El producto de reaccion es filtrado ylavado antes de ser combinado con agua ácida, en la cual los solidos son disueltos parcialmente. La suspension resultante es filtrada, y el filtrado eshidrolizado para convertir los valores detitanio en el mismo a hidrato de dioxido de titanio, el cual es calcinado para producir pigmento de anatasa.
