Abstract

A method for use in evaluating the performance of a point of sale facility and layout for use with the method, where the facility includes a plurality of individual point of sale stations, each operated by an employee providing transaction data from the point of sale station that includes the stages of providing video cameras to generate video indications of the activity at the point of sale stations and providing first recorders of the video and transaction data, establishing statistical rules to analyze transaction data from registered point of sale and apply first analysis rules to the transaction data provided by the point of sale stations to provide selected transaction data and record the selected and divided transaction data corresponding to them in a second recorder in a succession according to another standard of analysis. The first analysis rule or rule provides for the discarding of transaction data according to its relationship with statistical parameters and other analysis rules provide for the recognition of statistical abnormalities computed by the first analysis rule and the record sequence could be a starting sequence with the most abnormal transaction and succeeds the least abnormal transaction. A succession of records applicable to the first recorder is chronological and carried out with human intervention. The registration sequence applicable to the second selected transaction data in the second recorder is determined by a mathematical process and is not subject to the chronology of the selected transaction data. The systems to implement and the method are also provided.
