Abstract

En un método para tratar un tapón de corcho para una botella de vino u otro recipiente similar, el mismo es revestido con, por ejemplo, caucho de siliconapara impedir que impurezas presentes en el corcho contaminen el contenido de la botella. El revestimiento puede ser aplicado por inmersión, preferiblemente conagitación ultrasónica, para mejorar la penetración del material de revestimiento en los poros del corcho, antes del revestimiento, el corcho puedeser sumergido en un disolvente para eliminar por filtrado compuestos contaminadores presentes en la superficie del corcho, reduciendo de esa manerala probabilidad de que tales compuestos se concentren en la superficie.
