Abstract
Método para inhibir la expresión genética en un tejido vegetal que comprende transformar en forma estable una célula vegetal de un tipo del cualse pueda regenerar una planta completa en el cual se utiliza una construccióngené tica que contiene un promotor específico para un tejido oespecífico para un tejido o específico para el desarrollo que opera en las células del tejido vegetal de interés y un gen alterador que codifica unaproteína que es capaz, alexpresarse, de inhibir la respiración en las células de dicho tejido de interés, con lo cual se produce la muerte celular. Dichogen alterador se selecciona del grupo formado por el gen T-urfl3, genes que codifican una alfa o beta tubulina, laco-supresión en construccionessentido cortas de dos genes esenciales del ciclo celular, el cdc25 y el activador del origen de replicación (ROA) y una construcción sentido cortadel translocador de nucleótidos de adenina (ANT) de la membranamitocondrial intern a.A method for inhibiting gene expression in a plant tissue which comprises stably transforming a plant cell of a type from which a whole plant can be regenerated in which a genetic construct containing a promoter specific for a tissue or specific for a tissue or specific for development that operates in the cells of the plant tissue of interest and an altering gene that encodes a protein that is capable, when expressed, of inhibiting respiration in the cells of said tissue of interest, thereby causing cell death.
