Abstract
Se proporciona un proceso integrado para el tratamiento de un gas de ventilación para suprimir las emisiones de monóxido de carbono y de compuestosorgánicos volátiles procedentes de una planta de un proceso químico, cuyo procesocomprend e medios para la oxidación catalítica de contaminantesorgánicos con dioxígeno en una corriente del gas de ventilación sobre un catalizador de oxidación sólido, medios para suministrar una cantidad de fluidocombustible a la corrientede gas de ventilación aguas arriba de la oxidación, para facilitar la oxidación catalítica de los contaminantes orgánicos, y mediospara controlar la cantidad de fluido combustible que es suministrado por los medios de suministro, estandodispuestos los med ios de control paraproporcionar suficientes reactantes en la oxidación catalítica para mantener temperaturas de reacción adecuadas. Los procesos según la invención consiguen,normalmente, eficacias de destrucción para monóxidode carbono superiores al 90% aproximadamente, con preferencia superiores al 95% o más aproximadamente;eficacias para la destrucción de hidrocarburos superiores al 80% aproximadamente, con preferencia superiores al 90% o másaproximadamente. Losprocesos que utilizan catalizadores de oxidación seleccionados según la invención pueden conseguir, de manera convenientes, eficacias de destrucciónpara compuestos de haluros de alquilo superiores al 50-85% o másaproximadamente.
