Abstract
Una composición primaria libre de cromato líquido acuoso para formar un recubrimiento protector sobre metales, particularmente aluminio, es realizadapor medio de la reacción de cationes cobalto (II), aniones carboxilato, en por lo menos otro tipo de agente coordenador de complejo para los cationes cobalto(III), y un agente de oxidación en una solución acuosa en la cual la relación molar de aniones carboxilato respecto a los cationes cobalto (II) es desde0,10% a 6,8% y la solución acuosa contiene no más de 1% de cada amoníaco, iones amonio o iones nitrito. La capa primaria formada por ésta o cualquierotra composición que forma un recubrimiento que contiene átomos de metal y átomos de oxígeno sobre substrato de metal es sellada ventajosamente por eltratamiento adicional con una solución acuosa de decavanato de amonio sodio, opcionalmente después de un paso intermedio de inmersión en agua por unospocos minutos entre el tratamiento primario y el tratamiento de sellado.
