Abstract

Se provee un aparato que tiene circuitos electrónicos y que comprende una disquetera en calidad de componente (component disk drive), y un circuitoelectrónico en el cual se implementa el componente-disquetera para el almacenamiento local, ello como una alternativa para una memoria de estadosólido (solid state memory), que es más costosa, teniendo el circuito electrónico por lo menos una función no relacionada con la operación delcomponente-disquetera, y en el cual el circuito electrónico utiliza la información almacenada en el componente-disquetera para llevar a cabo lafunción no relacionada con el almacenamiento. El aparato es adecuado para una pluralidad de dispositivos electrónicos y para aplicacionesde circuitoselectrónicos que residen en la envoltura de una tarjeta, adaptada para ser enchufada o insertada en un dispositivo electrónico o en una computadora. Enla forma de realización preferida, el componente-disquetera comprende un disco con una única superficie de grabación, montado directamente sobre un motorplano, un conjunto de accionador de perfil bajo que incluye una suspensión simple que soporta una banda MR, y medio para estacionar (parking) elcabezal en el centro del disco. El aparato con circuitos electrónicos preferido, está encerrado en una tarjeta PCMCIA de tipo II ó III, en la cual elcomponente-disquetera ocupa no más del 50% del área de la tarjeta, y el resto del área de la tarjeta está poblada porcomponentes electrónicos que incluyenfunciones no relacionadas con el almacenamiento.
