Abstract

The compounds have formula (i) where L is selected from the group consisting of formula (II), where Q has, formula R3R4R5N1 where any of R3, R4 and R5 are independently selected from alkyl, alkaryl and arylsubstituted or unsubstituted; E is a substituted or unsubstituted polyalkylene, arylalkylene, alkylene arylpolyalkylene, polyalkylene aryl alkylene or polyalkylene arylpolyalkylene; a is 1 or greater; (Ya-) 1 / a is a compatible anion for charge balancing; R2, when present, is independently selected from the group consisting of aryl, alkaryl, aralkyl, and saturated or unsaturated aryl straight or branched chain C1-C0, preferably a C1-C4 linear saturated alkyl group, R3 is a saturated or unsaturated straight chain alkyl group or branched C1-C20; Z, when present, is selected from the group consisting of C2-C16 linear or branched substituted or unsubstituted alkyl, alkaryl, aralkyl, substituted or unsubstituted aryl; and i, when present, is 0 or 1. There are also provided bleaching compositions and bleaching additive compositions including asymmetric cationic bleach activators and fabric cleaning methods.
