Abstract
Un cuerpo soporte (20) de espuma de poliuretano de poros abiertos, es impregnado en un unico paso, con una solucion de un adhesivo termoplásticodisuelto en un solvente que es también un expansor de la espuma, o en dos pasos consecutivos:primer a con una solucion expansora de la espuma y seguidamente,una vez que la espuma se ha expandido, con una solucion de un adhesivo termoplástico, de modo de formar una capa adhesiva (40) sobre las superficies(25) situadas dentro de losporos (2 2) y pasos (24) del cuerpo de espuma (20) las partículas sorbentes (30) de carbon activado son introducidas en los porosexpandidos hasta que la espuma expandida ha sido rellenada llevándosela a la densidad deseada de carga departículas de carbo n. La espuma, impregnada ycargada, es seguidamente secada al aire a temperatura ambiente a efectos de vaporizar la solucion expansora de la espma hasta que el cuerpo de espuma puedeser calentado en una atmosfera inerte a unatemperatura suficient e y durante un tiempo suficiente a efectos de remover todo solvente que todavía pueda estarrecubriendo las superficies expuestas de las partículas de carbon activaddo, y también para ablandar o suavizar la capa adhesiva aefectos de reforzar más aunla union resultante de las partículas de carbon activado al cuerpo soporte de espuma.
