Abstract

Un blindaje contra explosiones tiene dos partes conectadas, un blindaje interno agujereado circundado por un blindaje externo impermeable. El blindajeinterno tiene un extremo inferior abierto para absorber una descarga explosiva de agua y gases,como ser de una explosión subacuática. El blindaje interno,cuya área comprende aproximadamente 20% de agujeros, impide que la mayor parte del líquido ingrese al espacio comprendido entre los dos blindajes, perolos gases pasan fácilmente a través de los agujeros para igualar la presión a través del blindaje interno. El blindaje puede incluir una chimenea en unextremo superior para liberación de gases y un elemento de sujeción para evitar que el blindaje sea soplado hacia arriba
