Abstract

Está referido a la selección de materiales útiles particularmente como materiales de distribución de fluidos a ser utilizados en artículosabsorbentes desechables, que tienen un tiempo de absorción capilar inferior a 120 segundos y un flujoacu mulativo de más de 0,075 gramos/cm2/segundo para ladirección preferente de distribución de fluido a 12,4 cm. de altura, cuando se aplica la prueba de absorción capilar vertical. Un criterio de selecciónútil adicional para tales materiales essu c omportamiento anisotrópico de distribución de fluidos, que se expresa como que el tiempo de absorcióncapilar en la dirección de distribución preferente es inferior a 80% del tiempo de absorción capilar de la dirección perpendiculara una altura de 8,3cm cuando se aplica la misma prueba. Está referido además a una estructura absorbente que comprende el material y a una matriz fibrosa para formar laestructura, así como el uso de la estructura absorbente en artículos ab sorbentes.
