Abstract
Un subconjunto para un pararrayos que tiene un conjunto de varistores de óxido metálico y otros componentes incluye un revestimiento aislante paraaplicar una fuerza de compresión axial al conjunto apilado. La pila de componentes,mientras es mantenida en una condición comprimida axialmente,recibe el revestimiento asilante que incluye resina termofraguable que, cuando está curada, tiene un coeficiente de dilatación térmica mayor que el de loscomponentes de la pila. La pilarevestida es después curada a una temperatura que excede la máxima temperatura esperada que será experimentadapor los componentes del pararrayos. Al enfriar, los componentes del conjunto son mantenidos en compresión y en adecuadocontacto eléc trico entre sí por elrevestimiento. En el revestimiento se incluyen cuerdas de fibra de vidrio para refuerzo y resistencia en voladizo. Se revelan también un conjunto eléctrico yun método de fabricación del subconjunto.
