Abstract
Un método para hacer vidrio, en el que una primera composición de vidrio es alimentada a un horno y se determina la densidad de dicho vidrio. Lacomposición es entonces cambiada para producir un segundo vidrio que tiene propiedadessubstancial mente diferentes del primer vidrio, siendo el cambio ala composición tal como para que se produzcan las propiedades deseadas en el segundo vidrio, mientras que simultáneamente se mantiene la densidad delsegundo vidrio substancialmenteigual a la d el segundo vidrio. El primer vidrio puede ser un vidrio claro, mientras que el segundo vidrio puede ser un vidriocoloreado. En dicho caso, el vidrio coloreado puede contener hierro, y las densidades se mantienen substancialmenteiguales utilizan do el hierro parareemplazar el óxido de calcio en la composición de vidrio claro. Se reivindica además los vidrios obtenidos por el método.
