Abstract
Una solucion coloidal derivada, por ejemplo, de la corriente sanguinea de un paciente afectado con deficiencia organica aguda y/o cronica, y en la formade ultrafiltrado, plasmafiltrado o totalidad de sangre, es purificada de toxinas, enpart icular PAF, bilirrubina, endotoxinas, radicales libres ytoxinas de proteinas ligadas, tales como indoxil-sulfato, mediante dialisis a traves de una apropiada membrana semipermeable, los lados opuestos de la cualse contactan respectivamentepor la s olucion a ser purificada y por una solucion de lavado que contiene una concentracion predeterminada de liposomas,generalmente mas grandes que los poros de la membrana semipermeable; la unidad de dialisis presenta un paquete defibras huecas, altamente permeablesconectadas internamente a un primer circuito que contiene la solucion a ser purificada, y las cuales son inmersas en una contracorriente de la solucion delavado que contiene liposomas; la solucion de lavadocircula en un segu ndo circuito que presenta medios para aplicar los liposomas a la solucion delavado, y posiblemente un cartucho de perfusion en serie con el segundo circuito y en el cual la solucion de lavado que contiene losliposomas sefiltra a traves de un filtro de particulas de carbon activado o resina sintetica cubiertas con membranas fosfolipidas continuas.
