The absorbent article further includes elasticized side panels located in each laterally opposite end region of at least one of said front and rear waist sections. The article includes attachment means to secure the wearer by forming overlapping portions. An adhered area is located in at least one of the overlapping portions. The adhered area comprises a bonding agent that provides a coefficient of friction for overlapping portions of less than about 350 grams. The adhered areas serve to maintain the relative positions of the portions of the disposable absorbent article that form the overlapping portions.
