Abstract
Esponja de hierro granulada, a temperaturas de 600 a 850°C, se alimenta a una prensa de cilindros para moldear briquetas en caliente, generándose unaestructura en forma de cinta integrada por briquetas de esponja de hierro moldeadas en caliente dispuestas a intervalos entre sí. La estructura en formade cinta es fracturada para separar entre sí las briquetas moldeadas en caliente produciendose también fragmentos de la estructura en forma de cinta.Las briquetas moldeadas en caliente y al menos una parte de los fragmentos son enfriadas a temperaturas de 20 a 400°C y son conducidas a través de un tamborgiratorio en el cual las briquetas y los trozos fracturados producen un materialde grano fino y desprendido por abrasión. Luego este materialdesprendido por abrasión es separado de las briquetas y fragmentos por se pirofórico.
