Abstract

Una junta flexible comprende una primera parte de pared rígida, una segunda parte de paredrígida y un aparte de pared flexible que se extiendeentre la primera y la segunda parte de pared rígida, las tres partes de pared definen un pasajelo ngitudinal a través de la junta y el mismo se encuentradispuesto a lo largo del pasaje, un manguito sujeto a un extremo de la primera parte de pared rígida y que se extiende a través del pasaje para superponersecon la segunda parte de paredrígida, el manguito se encuentra en una cierta distancia de la parte de pared flexible y posee libertad de movimiento enrelación con la segunda parte de pared rígida. En un aspecto, se proporciona una capa de material aislantesobre unasuperficie del m anguito al mismo tiempoque se deja el espacio entre el manguito y la parte de pared flexible sustancialmente libre para ser ocupado por el fluido de procesamiento cuando seencuentra en funcionamiento. En un segundoaspecto, la longitud de l a parte del manguito que se superpone con la segunda parte de pared rígida equivale a porlo menos cinco veces la distancia del manguito desde la segunda parte de la pared rígida, de acuerdo con la medición realizadaenforma perpendicular almangui to.
