Abstract
Un aparato para controlar bomba rotativa de pozo abajo y un método para controlar el aparato siendo la bomba rotativa accionada por una barra pulida yuna columna de barra de bombeo desde la superficie de la tierra por un motor eléctrico trifásico de velocidad variable o velocidad fija, es controlado pormedición de la potencia consumida por el motor eléctrico y por mediciones de la velocidad de rotación de la barra pulida, siendo las combinaciones de talesmediciones indicativas del parmotor ejercido sobre la barra pulida. Las determinaciones de tal par motor que estén dentro o fuera de límitespredeterminados superiorese inferiores de par motor son utilizados para mantener la velocidad de rotación de la bomba de pozoabajo o para variar lavelocidad de rotación de la bomba de pozo abajo o, alternativamente, para hacer detener totalmente la bomba de pozo abajo. La potencia generada por el motor esmonitoreada y el valor medido de la potencia puede ser también utilizado para hacer detener el funcionamiento del motor cuando un límite de potencia inferiores excedido.
