Abstract
Coffee machine (100) comprising: a water system (1) intended to be connected to a water supply system (2), a filter unit (3) disposed at the inlet of the water system (1), a pump (4), a tank (10) disposed in the water system (1) between the filter unit (3) and the pump (4), a sensor unit (11) disposed in the tank (10) and suitable for measuring at least one quality parameter of the water contained in the tank (10), a monitoring unit (16) electrically connected to the sensor unit (11) to receive electrical signals that are indicative of the measured water quality parameters, transduce the electrical signals in numerical values and compare the numerical values of the measured parameters with preset threshold ranges; and a user interface (18) operatively connected to the monitoring unit (16) and comprising an alarm (19) to indicate when a water parameter is out of the preset threshold range.
Claims (9)
1. Coffee machine sing: - a water system intended to be connected to a water supply , - a filter unit disposed at the inlet of the water system to filter the water, - a pump installed in the water system to provide a pressurized water flow, - a heater installed in the water system to heat the water at an ideal temperature for ting the coffee, and - a dispensing unit connected to the heater and provided with dispensing nozzles to dispense hot water for extracting the coffee, - at least one tank disposed in the water system between said filter unit and said pump, - a sensor unit installed in said at least one tank; said sensor unit being intended to detect at least one quality parameter of the water contained in said at least one tank; - a monitoring unit electrically connected to said sensor unit to receive electrical signals indicative of said at least one water quality parameter, transduce said ical signals in numerical values and compare said numerical values of said at least one ed parameter with preset threshold ranges; and - a user interface operatively connected to said monitoring unit; said user interface comprising an alarm to indicate when a measured water parameter is out of its preset old range, wherein said filter unit is disposed at the inlet of the water system, in such a way as to protect all parts of the water system against the action of the unfiltered water, and said at least one tank is disposed between said filter unit and said pump, in such a way that the sensor unit disposed in the tank can measure at least one parameter of the filtered water.
2. The coffee machine of claim 1, wherein said sensor unit ses a tivity or TDS (total dissolved solid) meter and said preset threshold ranges comprise a TDS range between 90 and150 ppm.
3. The coffee machine of any one of the preceding claims, wherein said sensor unit comprises the following specific ion sensors: calcium detector and magnesium detector; and said preset threshold ranges comprise a hardness range between 7 and 22 French degrees (°F).
4. The coffee machine of any one of the preceding claims, wherein said sensor unit comprises a PH detector and said preset threshold ranges comprise a PH range between 6.5 and 8.
5. The coffee machine of any one of the preceding claims, wherein said sensor unit comprises an alkalinity detector and said preset threshold ranges comprise an alkalinity range from 10 and 150 ppm.
6. The coffee machine of any one of the preceding claims, wherein said sensor unit comprises a chlorine detector and said preset threshold ranges comprise a chlorine range n 0.05 and 0.1 mg/L.
7. The coffee machine of any one of the ing claims, comprising an inlet tap disposed at the inlet of said at least one tank and an outlet tap disposed at the outlet of said at least one tank.
8. The coffee machine of any one of the preceding , comprising three tanks installed in series, wherein each tank has a sensor unit.
