Abstract

A method of assembling formwork for casting a concrete component includes arranging on a casting substrate (2), a plurality of elongate casting elements (AA, BB) to define the outline of the component to be cast. A plurality of wall portions (4) are then selected having a width commensurate with the width of the sides of the component to be cast. The casting elements (AA, BB) each have locating portions (3) to receive at least an edge of one or more of said wall portions (4). The plurality of wall portions (4) are located with the locating portions (3) of the casting elements to define a continuous wall along the outline of the component to be cast and to thereby delimit the sides of the component to be cast. The casting elements (AA, BB) are then anchored to the casting substrate (2). The concrete casting elements (AA, BB) may include a chamfering portion (5) adapted to chamfer an edge of the component.
