Abstract

Denne oppfinnelsen vedrører et arrangement for å distribue- re IP-adresser i et GPRS-nettverk. GPRS-systemet har en pool av IP-adresser som kan brukes av abonnentene. Denne pool er plassert i en global prosessor i GPRS-systemet som distribuerer adresser til alle andres prosessorer i de eks- terne nettverk. Ifølge oppfinnelsen er det konfigurert en lokal pool per prosessor for hvert eksternt nettverk. Nevn- te lokale pooler forsynes med en pakke adresser fra den globale pool. Når en lokal pool går tom blir poolen forsynt med en annen pakke adresser fra den globale pool. Hvis den lokale pool overskrider en forhåndsbestemt grense i antal- let inneholdte adresser blir en pakke adresser frigjort. Den globale pool kan da distribuere disse adresser til andre lokale pooler.
