Abstract

The invention relates to a right-handed and left-handed door lock (1). A bolt (3) and a tumbler (6) both actuated by a key (8) are housed in a lock housing (2), and the key (8) is mounted on a pin (4.1) of a pin plate (4) which can be moved into two positions. The two positions corresponding to right-handed and left-handed use are set by turning the pin plate (4) 180 DEG , and a tool is inserted into receiving means (4.5) of the pin plate (4) and said plate is locked in both positions. A economically constructed lock not differing externally from a simple type used is achieved in that the pin plate (4) is flat on its underside facing the housing bottom (2.2) and is surrounded on the periphery by an inner wall, fitted to the periphery, of a recess or a cross-member (2.5) to ensure rotation, and the receiving means (4.5) is accessible with the tool through a keyhole (2.30) positioned in a housing cover (2.3).
