Materialet anvendes eventuelt sammen med ytterligere isolasjonsmateriale og en beskyttelsesduk som en kappe eller jakke som omslutter vitale installasjoner som rørdeler, flenser mm for å redusere varmegjennomtrengning til installasjonen. Materialet er videre eksplosjonssikkert og oppviser god lyddempingsevne.
