Abstract

In one embodiment, two flow meters (12, 18) are arranged in series separated by a choke or blender plate (16). The choke (16) causes the gas phase to break from the oil phase. Volume flow rate is measured before and after blender plates, and density meters (32, 34) measure fluid density at each flow meter to give the values of the oil / water ratio before and after the blender plate (16). From this data, the volume flow rate at atmospheric conditions can be determined for each phase. Various embodiments of the invention are described.
