Abstract
Berøringsfritt infrarødt tympanisk termometer som Ikke krever stabilisering av omgivelser eller temperatur- regulering av en bølgeleder gjør bruk av en optisk stabilisert Infrarød detektor for detektering av infrarød energi som sendes ut av det tympanlske membran. Denne stabilitet oppnås ved anbringelse av et nøytralt tetthetsfilter (164) over halvparten av den optiske blendeåpnlng (162) i detektorpakken (16) slik at det nøytrale tetthetsfIlter (164) "skygger" bare en av de to termosøylekanaler (163) til detektering av infrarød energi som sendes ut av det tympanlske membran. De to termosøylekanaler (163) er motkoblet i serie slik at ethvert optisk signal som er likt tilstede l begge kanaler vil gi en netto utgang på null. Siden den infrarøde energi som sendes ut av veggene (161) i detektorpakken (16) når likt frem til detektoren (163), vil virkningene av disse utstrålinger på temperaturmålingen bli eliminert.
