Abstract
Det er beskrevet en fremgangsmåte ved fremstilling av støpejerngods med kompakterte grafittkrystaller. Fremgangsmåten innbefatter kontroll og korreksjon av sammensetningen av støpejernsmelten og at den nødvend-ige mengden strukturmodifiserende middel sikres. En prøve av smeiten tas med en prøverbeholder utstyrt med to termoelementer, ett anbragt slik at det befinner seg i sentrum av prøven og det andre anbragt slik at det befinner ser i nærheten av beholderveggen. Beholderveggen inneholder, eller er belagt med, et lag av et stoff som vil nedsette konsentrasjonen av oppløst, elementært magnesium i smeiten i nærheten av beholderveggen med minst 0,003 %. Temperatur/tid-verdien som oppnås ved hjelp av de to temepratur-responsinn-retningene registreres. Opptreden av en platåtempera-tur vil gi informasjon vedrørende utfellingen av flakformet grafitt i nærheten av beholderveggen, dermed muliggjøres utførelsen av korreksjoner vedrørende konsentrasjonen av det modifiserende middelet, og for å sikre dannelsen av kompakterte grafrittkrystaller under hele støpetiden som er påkrevet i den aktuelle støperiprosessen.
