Abstract

Framgangsmåte og anordning der en kommunikasjonsenhet (10) sender en forespørsel om kommunikasjonskanal, og nærmeste base (12) utfører tildeling eller allokering av kommunikasjonskanalen. En base mottar kanalforespørselssignalet og måler nivået på mottatt signalstyrke (RSSI) ved det mottatte signalet. Dersom nivået er over en terskelverdi, blir en kommunikasjonskanal allokert til den forespørrende kommunikasjonsenheten, og etablerer dermed en kommunikasjonsforbindelse. Hvis kanalforespørselssignalet ikke har et RSSI-nivå over terskelen, vil basen forsinke tildeling av en kommunikasjonskanal i en periode som er omvendt proporsjonal med målt RSSI-nivå, for å tillate at andre baser får muligheten til å tildele en kommunika- sjonskanal til den forespørrende kommunikasjonsenheten. Dersom basen avgjør at en annen base har tildelt en kommunikasjonskanal til den forespørrende kommunika- sjonsenheten, blir allokeringsprosessen stoppet, og basen fortsetter søking etter kanalforespørselssignaler.
