Fremgangsmåte for hurtig identifisering av mikro- organismer ved å bestemme rater for enzymatisk hydrolyse av et flertall substrater l nærvær av minst et enzymaktivltetspåvirkende middel, betegnet en "affekter" er ti l veiebragt. Substratene er valgt fra fluorogene og kromogene substrater for å danne et karkterlstlsk menster for enzymatiske spaltnlngsrater av enzymer uttrykt av den uidentifiserte mikroorganis- men.
