Abstract

For the reliable detection of a marking substance in mineral oils, a mineral oil sample is passed by means of a sampling and metering device (1) through a substance located in a container (2) and adsorbing the marking substance which is then selectively dissolved by rinsing the adsorbing substance with an eluent, and the eluate is then contacted in a receiving container (3) with a detection reagent for colour indication.
