En polymeriseringsfremgangsmåte ved anvendelse av en reaksjonsaksele- i rerende Lewis-base. Fremgangsmåten ut- føres ved omsetning av en epoksidfor- bindelse, f.eks. diglycidyleteren av ¿ bisfenol-A, med en metallkompleksfor- bindelse med generell formel MLxBy eller M [SR]X B, , og tilføring av termisk energi. I formlene betegner M et metallion, L en ligand, S er et syrerestion av en uorganisk syre, B en Lewis-base, x et naturlig tall analogt med valensen av metallionet, y et naturlig tall, z et naturlig tall større enn 6. Blandinger av epoksidforbindel ser og Lewis-baser og anvendelse derav er også beskrevet.
