I et plantedyrkingsapparat 10 blir planter dyrket og Inneholdt 1 et legeme 13. En dyrkingsseng 15 er arrangert i legemet for dyrking av plantene. En belysningsinnretning 21 er arrangert i legemet for utsending av lys til plantene 12 på dyrkingssengen. En gass-kondisjoneringsinnretning 22, 23 er montert på legemet for resirkulering av gass gjennom dette. Belysningsinnretningen innbefatter en belysningsenhet 24 for utsending av ultrafiolette stråler til plantene, og en omsetningsenhet 25 arrangert under belysningsenheten for å omsette de ultrafiolette strålene som blir sendt ut fra belysningsenheten til synlig stråling. Omsetningsenheten har langbølget absor-berbarhet og er formet av et plateelement som har hele sin overflate dekket med fosfor.
