Abstract
En optisk fiber blir kontrollprøvet ved bøyning av denne l forhold til flberens akse med en på forhånd valgt verdi, l alle retninger og ved alle steder langs lengden av fiberen. Ved en løsning blir den optiske fiber lagt rundt en sylindrisk dor l et skruemønster og trukket over doren over hele dens lengde. Med den foretrukne skruevinkel på omtrent 45 grader, vil to viklinger av den optiske fiber rundt doren, sikre at hele fiberen vil bil bøyd l alle retninger. Hvis det l den optiske fiber finnes en ufullkommenhet som ville føre til svikt ved en eller annen bøyning under den på forhånd valgte verdi, vil denne kontrollprøve føre til at fiberen svikter slik at det svake punkt kan eli- mineres.
