Description

The present invention relates to a ski for use as a grease-free ski.

A new type of ski that combines the two ideal functions for skiing; good glide and good attachment. The new principle can be built into all types of Nordic skis, i.e. cross-country skiing, touring and mountain skiing. The product has gliding properties like skating skis, and unique fastening properties. The same pair of skis can be used for both skating technique and classical technique.

Beskrivelse: Description:

Dermed hindres skien i å glide bakover. The good glide and the unique fastening properties are achieved by an inner part of the ski width acting as a sliding surface for the entire length of the ski. The remaining outer part of the ski width is "raised" to the attachment field, lies above the sliding surface, and is not in contact with the ground during the sliding phase. The attachment surface can be inclined in relation to the sliding surface, but for several reasons it seems most advantageous that the two surfaces are parallel. The width ratio between sliding surface and mounting surface can vary, but a good "formula" is 3/4 sliding surface and 1/4 mounting surface. Grooves are milled into the attachment field and various fasteners are glued in. These are tilted down to contact the ground by a slight supination of the foot at the kick-off moment. This prevents the ski from sliding backwards.

The purpose of dividing the ski into two separate, longitudinal fields is to achieve that the sliding surface and the attachment surface are not in contact with the ground at the same time. In this way, the sliding surface can always be prepared for maximum sliding, similar to skating skis. The attachment surface can be designed for optimal attachment under all conditions.

What is achieved with this ski idea is an all-round ski that can be used for all known skiing techniques, and where the problem of attachment lubrication is eliminated. It is a ski that can be used just as well on routes for ski skating as on slopes for classic skiing technique and in loose snow.

The distinctive feature of the ski idea is the longitudinal and parallel division of the ski sole into two, where the new compared to already known solutions is that the sliding surface is arranged on the inside of the ski along the entire length of the ski and where a raised attachment surface is arranged on the outside of the ski in a part of the ski's length, in which attachment surface there are milled outs for the insertion of several different types of fasteners for optimal attachment on all types of surfaces.

Four patents have covered this to some extent before.

DE 4119816, is a pure skating ski, where the inner side, with longitudinal grooves, is angled in relation to the sliding surface. It will be useless for anything other than skating on hard and well-groomed trails.

NO 141976 has a "chamfer" of the middle part of the inner side, but depends on attachment lubrication, and will therefore the chamfer be difficult/impossible to skate with, not fully suitable for walking "fishbones", not very well suited for ploughing, and not suitable for all forms of swing technique. For all the techniques mentioned, it is important that the edge on the inside is intact.

DE 2627887, mentions a parallel mounting surface as one of several options, but does not take into account that a mounting surface as wide as half the ski width will cause the sliding surface to have too small a surface and thus easily cut into the ground and cause the mounting surface to also come in contact with the surface during the sliding phase and thus slow down the sliding. In addition, a full-length attachment surface will lead to a weakening of the critical thin section behind the ski tip, or alternatively a thick, heavy and bulky ski.

The attachment surface should not have the same length as the sliding surface, and should not exceed 1/4 of the ski width. This patent also has no specified and reasoned recipe for which fastening elements must be mounted in the fastening surface to provide a good fastening on all types of road.

I "glaserte" og isete spor er det kun DE 3128042 has a number of surfaces in different levels, where some of the alternative combinations will not be able to work. The alternative in fig. 4 (Abb. 4) But this proposal will not be a ski that works in all conditions, they will only have a limited applicability. This is because: - the proposed triangular incisions are far too rough to work in loose snow and on loose pistes - on hard and icy pistes, the edges will quickly become worn and rounded, and thus the skis will not work well in such conditions either. In "glazed" and icy tracks it is only

skarpe og slitesterke kanter som fungerer. sharp and durable edges that work.

Fig. 1. Fig. 1.

Skien sett undenfra. The ski seen from below. The white field (1) is the sliding surface and extends from the tip to the entire length of the ski. In the front part of the ski, the sliding surface makes up the entire width of the ski. This is not to weaken the thin and weak part behind the tip. Yet another function of having the sliding surface across the entire width of the ski in the front part is that, possibly loose snow in the track is compressed before the fastening surface passes over and means that the fastening means do not so easily come into contact with the ground during the sliding phase. The shaded field ( 2 ) is the attachment surface and must be on the outside of the ski. This is because the inside edge of the ski must be sharp and intact to skate with, but also because the inside edge is important when plowing and turning. As shown in fig. 1 the attachment field starts a little behind the thinnest part on the front, and can end a little in front of the back tip of the ski, or can be "chamfered" to the same level as the sliding surface in the rear part of the ski.

The attachment surface can, but should not, exceed 1/4 of the ski's width. The sliding surface should have the largest possible bearing area.

In fig. 1 shows the location of the fasteners ( 3 and 4 ). The fastening means can be placed completely on the outer edge, but should preferably be placed a little on the fixing surface. If the elements are placed all the way out on the edge, the skis will be difficult to skate with, and can also slow down sliding in tracks with hard edges.

The fasteners ( 3 ) can be strips of nylon felt or mohair felt. The width of the pieces/strips with felt can vary, but must of course be in relation to the width of the attachment surface.

Feste-elementene med fell sørger for godt feste ved fraspark under de fleste The attachment elements with a trap ensure a good attachment in the event of a kick-off under most of them

forhold. relationship.

Fastening element (4) is a metal insert and can be placed anywhere on the fastening surface. A good location is under the front part of the ski boot. This is a piece of cast or milled metal, with barbs, and ensures a good grip when kicking off in "glazed" and icy tracks. It may be necessary to use several metal inserts with scattered placement.

The figure shows a cross section of a racing ski in the middle section.

( 5 ) viser oversiden. ( 5 ) shows the upper side.

(1 ) viser glideflaten. (1 ) shows the sliding surface.

The attachment surface (2) is raised above the sliding surface and may be an inclined surface in relation to this, but will be described here as a parallel surface to the sliding surface.

( 6 ) viser eksempel på utfresing for festemiddel. ( 6 ) shows an example of milling for fasteners.

The outermost 2 millimeters ( +-1 mm ) of the attachment surface must be a smooth edge without fasteners. The transition between the attachment surface and the sliding surface must have a rounded, smooth hollow wedge shape to prevent packing of snow and ice in difficult conditions with moist fresh snow.

The difference in level between the sliding surface and the attachment surface can vary from 1/2 mm and upwards. On racing skis, with 11 mm width on the attachment surface, 2.5 mm (+- 1.5 mm) seems to be applicable.

Inn i utfresingene ( 6 ) limes festemidlene. The fasteners are glued into the cutouts ( 6 ).

Fig. 3. Fig. 3.

The figure shows the metal fastener, with barbs, from the underside ( 7 ) and from the side ( 8 ).

1. This fastener must be inserted into the cut-out (4) in fig. 1.

The barbs cut into hard ground when kicking off. As mentioned, it may be relevant to use several metal inserts with scattered placement.
