Abstract

There is described a rudder (1) for a vessel (100), the rudder (1) comprising; - a profile element (11) provided at the leading edge of the rudder (1), - a rudder body (6) provided behind the profile element (11), the rudder body (6) being rotatable, by means of a rudder stock (60), relative to the profile element (11) around a substantially vertical axis, wherein the profile element (11) is provided with ducts (44, 46), connectable to a water supply (4), and adapted to discharge water rearwards along the surface of the rudder body (6), wherein the profile element (11) is adapted to be rigidly connectedto the hull (20) of the vessel (100) so that the profile element (11), in its longitudinal direction (L), is constantly pointing forward in the longitudinal direction of the hull (20). There is also described a rudder system (10) comprising a rudder (1) as well as a vessel (100) comprising such a rudder system (10)
