Abstract
Oppfinnelsen vedrører fremgangsmåter for å bestemme permeabiliteten til en geologisk formasjon som er mettet med en væske, og tilveiebringer en fremgangsmåte, et system og et loggeverktøy for å estimere permeabilitet. Fremgangsmåten omfatter å eksitere en formasjon med akustiske energipulser som forplanter seg inn i formasjonen, å måle de akustiske responssignalene som frembringes av den akustiske eksitering, og de elektromagnetiske signalene som frembringes av de akustiske energisignalene i formasjonen, og å separerere komponenter fra de målte akustiske responssignalene og de målte elektromagnetiske signalene som representerer Stoneley-bølger som forplanter seg gjennom formasjonen. De akustiske responssignalene og de elektromagnetiske signalene som representerer Stoneley-bølger som forplanter seg gjennom formasjonen, blir syntetisert. De separerte akustiske responssignalene og de elektromagnetiske signalkomponentene og de syntetiserte Stoneley-bølgesignalene blir sammenlignet. Permeabiliteten blir bestemt ut fra forskjeller mellom de syntetiserte Stoneley-bølgesignalene og de separerte akustiske responssignal- og elektromagnetiske signal-komponentene.
