Abstract
En kompakt katalytisk reaktor definerer et mangfold av første og andre strømningskanaler anordnet alternerende, idet de første strømningskanaler ikke er mer enn 10 mm dype og tilveiebringer strømningslinjer for brennbare reaktanter, og inneholdende en katalysatorstruktur (20) for å katalysere forbrenning av reaktantene, og som har minst ett innløp for minst en av reaktantene. Den første strømningskanalen inkluderer også et innføringselement (40 eller 60) i umiddelbar nærhet av hvert innløp, idet dette innføringselementet ikke er katalytisk overfor forbrenningsreaksjonen: innføringselementet kan definere gap som er smalere enn den maksimale gapstørrelse for hindring av flammespredning. Denne reaktoren er anvendelig i et damp-metan-reformeringsanlegg.
