Abstract

Oppfinnelsen angår en fremgangsmåte og et system for beskyttelse av en struktur i et marint/akvatisk miljø mot slitasje. Fremgangsmåten omfatter nedkjøling av minst en del av overflateområdet til strukturen og eksponering av overflateområdet mot et fluid med en frysetemperatur høyere enn overflatetemperaturen til strukturen. Følgelig fryser fluidet på overflateområdet og danner en beskyttende iskappe.
