Abstract

Foreliggende oppfinnelse gir en fremgangsmåte for fremstilling av titanoksidpartikler med liten størrelse, hvor fremgangsmåten omfatter trinnene a) å fremstille en vandig utgangsløsning omfattende minst ett av titanionene og komplekser derav, ved en konsentrasjon på minst 0,1 vektprosent titan; b) å holde løsningen ved en temperatur som er lavere enn 70 °C over en oppholdstid hvor hydrolyse finner sted, hvor hydrolysegraden er tilstrekkelig for å gi 0,1 mmol protoner per mmol titan som er tilstede i løsningen, hvor tiden ikke overstiger 14 dager, for å danne et system inneholdende en gjenholdt løsning; og c) å justere betingelsene i systemet ved minst ett av trinnene: i) å varme den gjenholdte løsningen for å øke temperaturen derav med minst 1 °C; ii) å endre pH-verdien til den gjenholdte løsningen med minst 0,1 enheter; og iii) å fortynne den gjenholdte løsningen med minst 20 %, hvor hovedandelen av partiklene som dannes har en størrelse mellom ca 2 nm og ca 500 nm. 1
