Abstract
En fremgangsmåte for uvinning av hydrokarboner fra en porøs undergrunnshydrokarbonførende formasjon ved: (a) saltinnholdet av et salt kildevann reduseres ved hjelp av revers osmose ved bruk av en membran med den første overflate og en andre overflate ved (i) å mate det salte kildevann til den første overflate av membranen, og (ii) behandlet vann med redusert saltinnhold fjernes fra den andre overflate av membranen; og (b) det behandlede vann injiseres inn i formasjonen; hvori membranen er selektivt permeabel for vann fremfor oppløste faststoffer slik at når (i) det salte kildevann har et totalt oppløst faststoffinnhold på minst 17.000 ppm og (ii) det utøvede trykk over membranen er større enn det osmotiske trykk over membranen og ligger i området 45 til 90 bar (4,5 til 9,0 M Pa), er det totale oppløste faststoffinnhold i det behandlede vann i området 500 til 5000 ppm. Økt oljeutvinning kan oppnås.
