Det beskrives anordninger og fremgangsmåter for isolering eller manipulering av et parti av en prøve ved ikke-omgivelsestemperaturer og -trykk. En anord-ningsutførelse av oppfinnelsen omfatter et primærprøve-omsluttingskar som avgrenser et primærkammer, karet har et primærprøveinnløp og - utløp; en sekundærprøve-samlebeholder som avgrenser et samlekammer fluidmessig forbundet med primæromsluttingskaret; og en prøvesonde som omfatter en distal ende som er i stand til å isolere en sekundærprøve i primærkammeret og overføre den til samlekammeret, idet sonden er fluidmessig forbundet med primærkammeret via en tetning som tillater bevegelse av i det minste den distale ende i tre dimen-sjoner i primærkammeret.
