Abstract

Fragmenteringen av et prosjektil kan påvirkes vesentlig ved at det benyttes en penetrator. Som regel omsluttes penetratoren av en mantel, som forbinder prosjektilkjemen og penettatoren som en enhet. Ved trefif mot mållegemet må først prosjektilmantelen ødelegges.Det krever energi, som vil påvirke den videre fragmenteringen av prosjektilet så vel som utskuddet fiia mållegemet. Ifølge oppfinnelsen foreslås det derfor at penetratoren (3) i et hårdkjemeprosjektil (1) skal være satt i en sylindrisk boring (4) i prosjektilkjemen (2), hvilken boring (4) er sentrisk i forhold til prosjektilaksen (5). Lengden til penettatoren (3) skal strekke seg over midten (8) av prosjektilet. Kjemen (2) skal omslutte penettatoren (3) i det ogivale området (6) med unntak av den frittliggende spissen (16). Den sylindriske del (7) av kjemen (2) som tjener til føring i løpet, er omsluttet med en mantel (9).
