Abstract

En fremgangsmåte for fremstilling av formaldehyd ved gassfaseoksidasjon av metanoldamp ved hjelp av en gasstrøm omfattende molekylært oksygen i nærvær av en stasjonærlags katalysator omfattende jern og molybden, hvori prosessen gjennomføres i en reaktor (1) med varmevekslingsplater (2) arrangert i lengderetningen av reaktoren (1) og som har en åpning mellom dem og hvorigjennom et varmeoverføringsmedium strømmer, innløps- og utløpsanordninger (3, 4) for varmeoverføringsmediet til og fra varmevekslingsplatene (2) og også gap (5) mellom varmevekslingsplatene (2) hvori den stasjonære lagkatalysator er til stede og hvori metanoldampen og gasstrømmen omfattende molekylært oksygen føres, er beskrevet.
