Abstract

Figuren viser en elektrisk kabel med ledere (1) av metall, hver omgitt av et indre ledende lag (2), isolasjon (3) og et ytre ledende lag (4). En fuktighetsbarriere (11) med et elektrisk ledende lag omgir lederne. Skjermingsbånd (5) av i det minste tildels ledende materiale befinner seg i områder mellom det ytre ledende laget (4) og fuktbarrieren (11). Elektrisk ledende skjermingstråder (6) løper langs skjermingsbåndet og er anbrakt gjennom disse i elektrisk kontakt med det elektrisk ledende laget i fuktbarrieren (11). Skjermingsbåndene bærer fuktbarrieren fra innsiden, slik at fuktbarrieren på en enkel måte kan gjøres vanntett når den påføres. Skjermingsbåndene (5), fuktbarrieren (11) og skjermingstrådene (6) utgjør sammen en effektiv elektrisk skjenn for kabel. Gjennomtrengning av et elektrisk ledende objekt i kabelen fører til en feilstrøm som enkelt kan angis, slik at den påtrykte kabelspenning kan fjernes.
