Abstract
Celle med drenert katode for elektroutvinning av aluminium omfattende én eller flere anoder (14) opphengt over én eller flere katoder (16). I flere eller hver anode (14) og katoden (16) har henholdsvis en V-i formet aktiv anodeoverflate (22) og parallelt hellende invertert V-formede drenerte katodeoverflater (18) tilstøtende hverandre og plassert fra hverandre med to hellende interelektrodegap (20), anordnet således at elektrolytten sirkuleres oppad i de hellende interelektrodegap (20) assistert av anodisk produsert gass, og deretter returnerer fra en øvre del (22') til en nedre del (22") av hvert interelektrodegap (20) langs en elektrolyttvei (26, 27, 36, 37). Hver elektrolyttvei (26, 27, 36, 37) strekker seg gjennom vertikale og horisontale passasjer som følger: en vertikal passasje (27) fra en øvre til en nedre del av en katode (16) og deretter en horisontal passasje (26) inn eller under den nedre del av katoden (26), og/eller en horisontal passasje (36) i eller på en øvre del av en anode (14) og deretter en vertikal passasje (37) som strekker seg fra en øvre til en nedre del av anoden (14). Hver horisontale passasje (26, 36) strekker seg i hovedsak over hele den horisontale lengde av et korresponderende interelektrodegap (20).
